Introduced in 2001, the .NAME top-level extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are famous by. At the beginning, only third-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken 3rd-level domains remained running.

You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no particular regulations on who can book a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the objective behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
